Wines of Hermanus Wine FestivalsThe area Elgin to Elim is officially recognized as South Africa’s premium wine producing region. In an effort to bring its wines and people to the fore we have founded the Wines of Hermanus and the Overberg Wine Festival. Wine lovers report these festivals to be the best opportunity to focus on tasting a region’s wine at one venue without the hassle of time constraints and driving. For a mere R50 fee, including a tasting glass, visitors are free to taste between 70 and 100 wines from 20 or more wineries from the region. The food menu always compliments the season and is sure to be paired with the different wine styles to ensure the ultimate tasting experience. A wonderful opportunity for visitors to meet the winemakers, expand their wine knowledge and relax with families and new found friends in a casual and social setting. Our region is particularly known for its quality in Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Pinot noir and Bordeaux blends, but doesn't exclude other popular wine styles. Professional musicians provide entertainment and there are free movies, hot dogs and sugar-free fruit juice for the little ones.
